I love this City!

We moved to Barrie from Alliston about 2 years ago.  To be honest, I wasn't sure that I would like the bigger city feel.  Alliston was so cute and cozy, filled with little coffee and ice cream shops.  The main drag had friendly stores with owners that would recognize your face when you walked in.  So the thought of big and impersonal city didn't seem too appealing to me.  However, we felt that God was calling us here, setting all the pieces together and making it clear that it was the right move to make.  So off to the city we came...

Though I have yet to explore all that Barrie has to offer, I have grown to love this city quite a bit.  Yes, it's quite a bit bigger than Alliston, but it also has a lot more to offer.  What we have particularly enjoyed so far is the downtown waterfront.  It's a great spot to go for a lovely walk and have Levi enjoy the playground.

While a lot of days we settle for the walk around our little court, a trip down to the waterfront is always a welcomed pleasure.  Sure it takes more effort to round up the gang, car seats, diaper bag, snacks and sippy cups, but it's so worth it.

On Sunday this was coupled with say what?... Starbucks two for one Frappacinos, yes please!

We stripped off socks and dipped feet in fridged waters....because you just can’t keep a little boy that close to the water and not let him get wet....or his mom for that matter.

 I grew up in the east cost and the water has always had a particular draw to it.  Looking out on the vast expanse of water has a calming affect on me.  In these moments I can be still and know that He is God.  The sound of the waves lightly splash on rocks and waters edge...
