Birthdays

I have to admit that I've never really been much of a birthday person.  I've just thought of it as another year gone by, maybe have a little b-day celebration, but nothing fancy.  Even when Levi turned one, for whatever reason I didn't really play it up very much.  After all, he wasn't really going to notice if we did anything or not.  I had to work that day, and was pooped when I got home.  Okay this is going to make me sound like a terrible mother, but I think my sister in law, Lindsey, is the one who actually bought the cake and brought it over.  We sang a little Happy Birthday and that was that.  This year, birthdays have become a little more important to me.  It's been impressed on me, how quickly time goes by, with Levi turning three this year, and it's caused me to realize that the passing of each year deserves a little more celebrating!

Friday Photo Post-1 day Late: Chapman Special Family Trip

On Tuesday night, we packed up that mini van of ours and high tailed it outta' here.  We headed off on an adventure called the 'Chapman Family Special Trip'.  I was unaware of our destination, only knowing that we we headed somewhere into the U-S-OF-A.  A trip to anywhere would really have sufficed.  I found out that we were going on a surprise trip last Saturday.
Jos " Should I try to work next Thursday"
Dale " Umm... no because we're not going to be home"
Jos "What do you mean?"
Dale "We're going away"
Jos "Really?! Where?"
Dale "To the states"
Jos "Ummm... I don't have a passport"

Busy Blessed Weekend

I mentioned on Friday, that I was heading out for a ladies retreat...and oh what a sweet retreat it was.  The parents of one of the ladies in our group graciously offered up their stunning home in the woods for us to enjoy for the night.  I got lost a few times on the way down, but I think it was mostly due to the distraction of the crazy loud music that I had blaring in the car.  To be honest, I didn't mind getting lost.  It didn't really matter where I was driving, I was a free momma for the night!

Friday Photo Post- Friendship

I enjoyed a visit from a high school friend this week.  It was great to catch up, and hang out.  It's amazing how times change and we went from hanging out in my bedroom listening to Brandy, talking about boys trying on mom's old clothes, spreading face masks and being goofs to talking about babies, swapping birth stories, wiping bums, listening to little boys play and the changes that motherhood brings on.  I can't tell you how many remember when...moments we had, and it was so fun when we.. conversations.

Growing with baby cubes

As you know we are a DIY family.  We try a little of this and that here and there to save some money.  Sometimes it turns out well, other times not so great, but there is always a great reward in accomplishing things yourself, start to finish.  There is also great wisdom in hiring someone with experience to have it done professionally.  The trick is knowing when to draw the line.
